Trends
First month of the Dreams year and Dreamers were feeling artistic. A lot of painting and 3D sculptures and short animations rather than gameplay releases. The current active Gamejams are Against the Clock and Radical Retro so there are a few more arcade games than usual. Trends include the meme “Did you ever find your Dad?” (which were moderated and removed, one of which had over 1,000 likes), remade clips of Puss in Boots the Last Wish, and The Last Of Us is reimagined in Dreams as games and art. FNAF still popular, as is Sonic the Hedgehog.

Community Events
New seasons of Let’s Talk Dreams by Red Seikatsu, DHM Creation Challenges, and MamaFluffys Music Jam. LegendofSketchy has started a painting a day challenge for himself. The Tenia launched a Pixel Art & Sprite Creation Challenge. Tricobalt is looking for remixes of a billboard for his Scooter racing game.

Kareem Ettouney has left Media Molecule. The BAFTA winning Co-Founder and Art Director had been with Mm since the founding in 2006 (17 years). No explanation about why Kareem handed in his notice, or what he plans to do next. This is the second founder to leave the company, (Alex Evans left Media Molecule in 2020). Kareem’s last appearance was a stream dedicated to his time at Mm streamed on Twitch on 17th Jan 2023. https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1710189219
